The Authors Registry Musicians have ASCAP and BMI. Writers have the Authors Registry. Formed in 1996, this non-profit organization collects fees and royalties from publishers and distributes them to authors. Search an extensive author directory or add your own name!

The Foundation Center – The website was created to assist writers in finding grants. It offers over 250 cooperative sites available in cities around the United States. Along with several online applications the website has a large online library with interactive orientation to grant seeking.

Funds For Writers – This website specializes in information for writers to find grants, awards, contest, fellowships and jobs. The site produces two newsletters that provide writing tips and information on how to make a living writing.

National Writers Union – Union for freelance writers working in U.S offers grievance resolution, industry campaigns, contract advice, health and dental plans and events for networking. Check the site for more services.
